Can I Just Say DEEEELISHHHH!!!!!!!!!

I promised some new apple recipes! Well, I made apple butter in my crockpot on Tuesday. First of all let me say it smelled sooooo wonderful. The weather is a little bit cooler here this week and it feels more like fall and then to have the wonderful smell of apples and cinnamon! Oh my!!

9-10 apples (I used Gala)

Sugar

Cinnamon

Ground Cloves

Peel and chop apples. Add spices and stir. Cook for 1 hour on high, then turn down to low and cook another 9 hours. Remove lid from crockpot and cook one more hour or until nice dark brown. When done, use whisk to achieve desired consistency.

This recipe made 4 1/2-pint jars (although only 3 are shown in the picture).

Cinnamon Sticks

I made homemade bread the other day (ok, I confess, I used the bread maker to make the dough!!), but anyway, I made regular breadsticks and then I made these wonderful cinnamon sticks for dessert!! Very easy!! Just rolled out the dough sprinkled sugar and cinnamon on top and baked, then added a powdered sugar icing to the top. Can I just say YUM!!

7th CHAIR!!!!!

Congratulations Conner!!
Last week they had chair tryouts in band and he is 7th chair out of 21 trumpets!! We are so proud of him!! And for those who don't remember this is in Advanced Band, which he got moved to after showing the Band teacher he was serious and coming to Summer Band!! So this is really an awesome accomplishment! And for those who don't understand "chairs"...each band member must try out by themselves and play a series of different scales on their instrument, a piece of music that they are familiar with and can practice and one that they have never seen before. Having been in the band myself, I can tell you it is a very nerve wracking experience!! Way to go Conner!!
