Easy Supper!!

The other day I saw a recipe in the Publix ad for a Mediterranean Scallop Dish. Well, I love scallops, but Frank doesn't really care for them, so I was thinking this over and came up with a similar recipe but with everything I had here at home and it was so easy and so good! My ENTIRE family liked it!!

1 pound boneless skinless chicken (cooked in a bit of olive oil and Italian Dressing--go easy on the oil because the dressing has oil in it also)
2 boxes of Green Giant Simply Steam Vegetables--Broccoli and Carrots with garlic and herb seasonings
Spaghetti Noodles
Italian Dressing

I cooked the chicken, cooked the vegetables and cooked the noodles. I put the noodles and veggies in a casserole dish and tossed them with Italian Dressing---be careful not to use too much and make it watery. Add the chicken and voila! you've got a fantastic meal!! Add some garlic bread and it will look like you worked very hard on this easy meal!

Our Day at the Park

Last week Mari Cate had a field trip to the Science Theater. I didn't go to the Science Theater but, I met up with them at the park for lunch and fun afterward. Hayden did NOT want to get off the swings and had a ball pushing his stroller around by himself! Be sure to click on the collage for bigger pictures!

My Deal for the Day!!

Today I went to Publix (one of my newest favorite stores!!--I only wish we had one here in Cleveland!!)

They had Yoplait yogurt on sale for $2.50 Buy One Get One Free, so $1.25 each (and they do let you purchase only one of them at half price by the way). But I had two coupons for $1.50 off of one 4-pack. I also had a coupon for 50 cents off of a 4 pack (which doubled to $1.00 off) of Yoplait Fiber One yogurt, which was also on sale buy one get one free.

I also bought Conner a pack of cheese and crackers and I paid........................are you ready????

A total of 59 cents!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Young Marines

Most of you know that Conner is part of the Young Marines program. He has acsended to the rank of Lance Corporal and we are so proud of him. Anyway, I wanted to share a few pictures I snapped while he was at drill this past Saturday...of course I embarrassed him, but that is my job...well sort of ; )

I also wanted to share a picture from the Young Marine's National Magazine "Esprit". For Veteran's Week back in November they hosted a dinner for the local veteran's. Their picture was featured in the national magazine...so that was pretty cool!

Mom and I went to Walgreens and CVS yesterday and I got some awesome deals. I am trying to get all this figured out with the couponing and the drugstores and I think I am beginning to get it.

So here is what I got:

3 Pkgs of Huggies Supreme Diapers (on sale for $10) (I had $5.00 off 1 pkg coupons for each making them $5.00 each)

1 Refill Pkg Huggies Baby Wipes (on sale for $6.00) (I had $5.00 off coupon making them $1.00)

Garnier Fructisse Shampoo (on sale for $2.99) (I had Walgreen's Easy Savers Catalog for $2.00 making it 99 cents)

Crest Night Time Whitening Toothpaste (on sale for $2.19) (I had coupon for $1.50 off making it 69 cents!)

Hair Bands for Mari Cate's pony tails (on clearance for 75 cents)

Orbit Gum (I had coupon from Walgreens Easy Savers Catalog for 3/99 cents)

Misc Gum (on clearance for 65 cents each)

Diet Dr. Pepper (FREE with coupon HERE)

Reese's Cup (FREE from tear off pad in Walgreens store with purchase of 20 oz. drink product)

So I spent less than $24.00 AND got $10 Walgreen's Register Rewards for spending $25.00 on qualifying Huggies products!! So I can go back and get some more diapers free now!!

Then I ran by Bi-Lo to pick up a few things that they had on sale and got these for FREE. They are the Beechnut Let's Grow little meals. Hayden really likes these and they are so easy to fix for him. They sell in most places for like $1.16-1.25. They were on sale in Bi-Lo for 5/$5.00 and I had coupons for $1.00 off 1...I had two coupons, so I got both of them free. And by the way, if you don't know already, at Bi-Lo you don't have to buy all the specified quantity to get the sale price. I only bought 2 of these and got them for $1.00 each. If they offer buy one/get one free deals, you can purchase just one and get it for half price. ALSO, they double your coupons (up to 60 cent value---makes it worth $1.20) EVERYDAY. And, on Wednesdays, you get a 5% discount....senior citizens get this everyday, if they sign up for it. What a deal!! I always thought I was getting such a deal at Walmart, and don't get me wrong, I still like my Walmart, but I am learning how much I can save and what better deals I end up getting when I shop elsewhere!! Big thanks go out to my friend, Denise, who "showed me the light"!! : )

Spaghetti Boy

Just had to share a picture of my spaghetti boy. Most of this ended up in his lap--although he tried real hard to get it all to his mouth!! haha At one point his shirt even looked like it had polka dots on it from the little pieces! Notice the paci in the hand--every few minutes it would go back in his mouth like it was helping him or something! I laugh now, but in a months I'll regret that ever giving it to him I'm sure!!

Yes, I have been sorting, delivering, and helping Mari Cate sell Girl Scout cookies all weekend. We picked up our cookies on Friday and started delivering them Friday night. On Saturday, we worked a booth sale at the mall where she picked up some extra sales. And we have bought more Girl Scout cookies than I have ever bought in my life I think. Each one of us wants a different kind.
