This past week my Mother's oldest brother, Ray, passed away in his sleep. He had just turned 70 in February...may seem old to some, but the older you get, the younger it sounds. This is the first of the 6 siblings to pass away, so it was very hard on all of them. We travelled to West Tennessee for the funeral on Friday.

For my mother and my aunts and uncles who read this blog, I want you to know that we are praying for you as you experience this time of grief and sadness.

Easter

We went out to eat Sunday evening for Easter instead of after church so we could avoid the big crowds. We went to a new Mexican Restaurant in Chattanooga called Abuelo's. I know---not your normal Easter meal, but it was so good!! Here are a few pics from our day and evening.

Happy Spring 2008!

I am so glad to see Spring is on the way! I am ready for capris and sandals (most of all just to see something besides maternity clothes! haha!)

I wanted to share a picture of Conner's Peach Tree in our yard. It is beginning to bloom and looks so beautiful!

The kids are on Spring Break beginning today through next week, and my aunt and uncle are coming in from Florida today to spend the week with us, so I don't know how much posting I will do.

I sure hope everyone has a wonderful Easter weekend, but most of all please remember what Jesus did for you on the cross. And Praise God, HE ROSE AGAIN!!

Mari Cate is in the Black Fox singers choir at school and they auditioned to be part of Magic Music Days at Disney World and were accepted!!! Yeah!! So we get to go May 30th. This will be the first time for any of our kids to go to Disney and the first time in a looooong time for either Frank or me, so we are really looking forward to it! Want to join us??

One Month Old

Hayden is one month old today--I totally cannot believe it! I wanted to share a few pictures (shocking, huh?) Oh and by the way, he weighed 9 lbs 2 oz yesterday. I was thrilled with that after our little scare of him losing some weight!!

All three kids got some new shoes this week. (Boy, it can get expensive buying for three children!!) This is Hayden's first pair that he has actually worn, and to be honest, they didn't stay on his feet for very long! I found Mari Cate's to go with her Easter outfit, but of course she has had to wear them a couple of times already (ahh, a girl and her heels!! Or heel-highs as she used to call them!!) And Grandmomma (Frank's mom) surprised Conner by buying him the Nike Shox he had been dying for!! Thanks Grandmomma!

And of course I had to add a cute new one in of Hayden for you!! ; )

Pee, Spit Up, and Throw Up

This is what I got covered with yesterday, but not from just one child, two of them.

I got peed and spit up on yesterday morning from Hayden (one of the few mornings that I was trying to go somewhere too--not to mention that my clothes are limited right now as my body decides what shape it wants to be and the weather keeps changing!) and I picked Mari Cate up from school yesterday and she complained of a belly ache. By the time we were at the middle school to pick up Conner, she was saying she felt really bad and that the spaghetti they served at school yesterday, just hadn't tasted right. She fell asleep for a few minutes, then as we were leaving, lost everything...all over the car and herself.

So it was a fun day.....; )

The First "Real" Bath

Hayden has had sponge baths up until last night because his cord had not come off yet. But last night we got to experience the first real bath. You can see he didn't really like it, but in the end he had calmed down and was "cooing" at me. As you can see I have "covered" private parts to protect his dignity (haha!!).

Can he be 3 weeks already?

A Taste of Spring

Sunday was a beautiful day here. It was around 70 degrees and felt so wonderful!! We have a greenway here in Cleveland that is a wonderful place to walk. So we took the kids (on their skates and Heely's) and covered Hayden all up in his stroller (which I absolutely LOVE!) and went for a walk. Hayden and I have not ventured out very much since he was born because of all the sickness around, but it was just too nice not to take advantage of it!
