So tomorrow is it...

It is officially here. Nearly all of our house is packed and ready to go into storage. I have packed a few things (kind of like packing for a vacation) to take to my Mom and Dad's and we will begin a new adventure. I am not sure how long we will be staying there...hopefully not long for all of our sakes, but hopefully not long just so we can get our lives settled again.

I have lots of pictures to share from our family visiting last week, but they will have to wait until next week when I am a little more sane!

Pray that everything goes smoothly as we move our lives into the storage pod! : )

It's All Worth It!

Even when life is crazy and I can't get it all figured out....they make it all worth it!!

This afternoon we grilled out steaks (on sale from Bi-Lo--$2.99 New York Strips no less!!) and ate dinner with my family and Frank's family. It was kind of nice not fight the crazy Mother's Day crowds and just enjoy our meal at home. My family got me some very nice gifts for Mother's Day too. A "Seacret" Nail set, Lindor Truffles (the best!!) and a Ghiradelli Chocolate Bar (can you see I already ate some-shhh!) Apparantly, my kids were insistent upon getting me some chocolate---wonder if they just thought I wanted it or that I NEEDED it!! I also got a beautiful little bracelet with 2 boys and a girl on it (and here's a little secret about it---Mari Cate and my Mom found it the other day at a yard sale for 50 cents, so she even bought with her own money I think!). I also got a beautiful new watch. It is a Citizens Eco-Drive Technology watch, which apparently means that I never have to change the battery in it...it runs on solar power somehow! Pretty cool huh? So yeah, I had a good mothers day!

New Appliances = Me Time???

Ok, first let me say that appliances are one of those purchase that our family only makes "when we have to"...meaning when we have finally drained every ounce of life out of them that they could possibly have. We bought a new washer and dryer a couple of years ago (after having the others for almost 18 years!). My washer had not died at that point but it was on the verge and I was having to use some sort of rigged up screw to turn it on--crazy, huh? But I got a new set and I love them.

But *if* we get the house that we want, the kitchen needs some MAJOR updating. The house was built in 1967 and I think the appliances are still the same green appliances that we installed when it was built---ahhhh!! So we are in the process of looking at appliances and seeing what is out there. I definitely want stainless steel, but we are sure what brand yet, however, Frigidaire is a brand that we have been happy with in the past. Frigidaire has a whole new line of appliances that have just come out, so I am sure we will be checking them out.

So here is the thing...I am part a group called "MomSelect". They are asking me to get my readers to take THIS survey to let them know what you would do with a little extra "me" time. Life continues...

Even during the craziness of a move, life continues to go on around you. Laundry must be done, dishes must be washed, homework must be done, lunch money checks must be written, and orthodontist appointments must be kept.

Today, the second of my children got her braces put on. Mari Cate has wanted braces for SOOOO long!! She has anticipated this day for a year or so now. Now we will wait for the "new" to wear off! (haha) She is in what they call "Phase 1" of her braces. This phase is not for straightening of her teeth. It is for correcting her underbite. She has brackets on the 4 front teeth and bands around the two back molars. She will also have to wear head gear (ugh) at night to help pull the upper jaw forward. This phase should take about 12-15 months. Then she will wear a retainer to keep that in place until her baby teeth are all gone...then we will move on to Phase 2--the regular braces...and more money...BIG UGH.

So let me introduce my new daughter..................
