Still waiting.....

I get quite tired lately, so I am not writing too much, but just wanted to let you know that I am still waiting for the arrival of Hayden. I am having contractions daily, but they are not coming any closer together or getting any harder, so I guess they are just preparing us.

Bags are packed and ready to go.........and so am I!!

It's Out

Well, I went in to the doctor today and he took my stitch out. He said it would be uncomfortable, but I would say it was more than uncomfortable....more along the lines of painful! But I am ok now and not sore or anything.

He checked me and said that I am 50% effaced and that my cervix is very soft. I have not dilated any yet, but I am on my way now. Hayden is head down, face down with his little legs tucked under him (not up by his face anymore!), and his head is in my pelvic cavity. So he is making himself ready. So now we wait.....

It's Coming Out....

Not the baby....but my cerclage stitch!! My doctor had said he would take it out during my 37th week (which is next week), but when I went in on Monday, he said since I am having some contractions he wants to go ahead and take it out. So on Thursday, it will be gone. Now for a lot of people that have a cerclage done, taking out the stitch can mean labor soon follows, but we will just have to wait and see for me. You see, my doctor seems to think my stitch is not really serving any purpose...he calls me his mystery patient. However, I know it isn't a mystery....this was all in God's timing and He is the one who has held Hayden inside of my until the right time. Now don't get me wrong, having the stitch placed did give me a bit of comfort, but ultimately I knew Who was in control!! So pray for me as I go in on Thursday. It will be removed in the office and Frank can be there with me, but there may be a bit of discomfort he said. My dr. will also check to see if I am dilated at all.

We (or rather I, since Frank is out of town part of this week) completed our last Child Birth class last night. I really enjoyed the classes and learned alot. I would recommend them to anyone! Some things we knew because we have had infants before, but anything to do with the actual birth, was new to us. And it never hurts to have a refresher on taking care of babies (especially when it has been 8 YEARS!!! : )

Wow, has it been this long!!

My goodness, I can't believe it has been so long since I posted anything. Life is getting busier and slower at the same time! Can you actually put those two together?? I am getting slower at doing EVERYTHING with each passing day, but everything is getting busier trying to prepare for this baby!!

So to catch you up a little...we have decided on a name finally!! Hayden Lee Hamilton

Hayden is still breech as of today, so they are beginning to talk c-section with me. I am 35 weeks (as of yesterday) and he weighed ~6 lbs. 1 oz. on Thursday. At that point I was 34 wks 4 dys and he was measuring 36 wks 3 dys, so almost 2 weeks ahead of schedule. Of course some of you know that my "predicted delivery date" is Feb. 11th (no special meaning of this day, just based on some "facts" that I know--hehehe!!) I really don't want to have a c-section, but they don't seem to think "turning" him would be successful. I am considering acupuncture. Frank has a former police officer friend who studied acupuncture in China, so we are going to call him. I hear that this is a fairly good success rate in getting babies to turn with using acupuncture. I have never done anything like that before, but I am open to it. Anyone got any thoughts or previous experiences with this????

I had a baby shower this weekend at church and it was a lot of fun! We got lots of wonderful gifts and tons of diapers!! Yeah!! Another friend of mine has offered to host a shower for me also. I will be on Feb. 3rd (which is mine and Franks 18th anniversary by the way, but I didn't figure we would be going on any overnight trips or anything-haha!!)

I am going to share some of the pictures from the shower and I will also try to post one of our 4D ultrasound that we got last week, but I don't have that one in the computer yet.

Good Morning 2008!

I hope everyone had a wonderful New Years Eve and Day! Normally on New Years Eve, Frank and I have our next door neighbors and their 3 boys and Franks sister with her family over and just hang out and play games and such. Well, this year, I wasn't sure I would be up to it, so we decided to cancel it. We prefer not to go out just because of the dangers surrounding the night, so instead we went to eat at our favorite Japanese Restaurant Kanpai of Tokyo, with Frank's parents, his sister and her family, and a dear family friend of ours and her daughter. We had reservations at 5:00, so that got us back home at a decent hour. The food as always was WONDERFUL!! After we got home, all four of us piled up in mine and Frank's bed and watched some TV, then of course watched the "ball drop". Pregnant woman here was already dozing before that though and woke up just in time to ring in the new year!!

New Years Day was beautiful here, but extremely windy and cold. Nevertheless, we headed to the mountains...are we crazy or what?? We new that there were some good campgrounds around the Elijay, GA area, so we thought we would go check them out. Most of the pictures we took were in the Fort Mountain State Park area and Crater Lake area. As you can see the lake is way down because of the drought that Georgia has had this past year. We haven't been camping since I found out I was pregnant, but can't wait to get the camper out and about again in the Spring!! So anyway, I wanted to share some pictures from our day trip yesterday. ***Quick Baby Update, Too***I had an appt. on New Years Eve and thought it was just going to be a quick see the doctor, tell him I am doing fine, etc. kind of appt., but after I got in my room, they brought in this machine, and I thought "what in the world??" I shouldn't have been scared, but obviously, I have never been through any of this, so.... Anyway, it was just a monitor to do a NST (Non-Stress Test) on Baby H. It measured his heart rate for 20 minutes. Everything was fine, my doctor said he seemed to be a very happy baby in there (let's just hope he doesn't get too happy and decided to stay too long in there!!) I was also told that from this point on I will go in to the doctor twice a week!! Once will be to see the dr. and do a NST, and the next appt will be to have an ultrasound and NST. Being diabetic (type 2, not gestational), my doctor really really takes extra special care of me (thank you Dr. Wolf!). He wants to make sure the amniotic fluid stays like it should and most of all, that the baby doesn't gain weight too fast and get too big because of my diabetes. Fortunatly, I was instructed on this early on and have been able to keep my blood sugars under good control throughout the pregnancy, so he doesn't feel that their will be any problem. I will try to keep you informed on how these appts go each week. Thanks for continued prayers!
