It's official now...

All the papers are signed...a key given to the new owners. I can deny it no longer....we closed on our house Wednesday. We no longer own a home...our home. As much as I want/wanted this move, it is still sad. Our three kids were babies here at this house...that's explanation enough, but this is the house that Frank's dad built, this is the house that he grew up in. For nearly 45 years it has been part of his family, now it belongs to a new family. A new family that is thrilled to have a "new" home of their own. A family that also has "new life" coming to their family this year, so they have much to celebrate this year. But it is a family that is friends with us and will allow my kids to come back here one day and look at their old rooms, their carvings on trees, trails that they made in the woods, the home they were not so sure about leaving....for that I am thankful.

Ok, enough sentimental...guess I am just a little that way, since we don't know for sure where we are going yet and that is a little unsettling. Our last day here in this house will be May 23rd, then we will move in with my parents, hopefully for just a short amount of time.

Hopefully by then we will be as excited about a new house as the family is to be moving into ours. Congratulations new owners!

I am sure that you will understand the possible hiatus I will be taking as we settle "somewhere". I promise to come back with lots of pictures of "someplace". Probably enough to drive you crazy! : )

Today is Earth Day. Although I am not a big "greenie", I am trying to change some of the things we do in our house and family. Even just changing one thing you do can make a big difference.

So, if you still didn't figure out what his microphone is, it's my tripod. He started using it as a microphone a few weeks ago. I guess he saw the microphones at church on the stands and figured that's what it was. He is such a ham!!

And it begins...........

Cupboards are emptying and boxes are getting packed.

Well, some of you know that we have sold our house--for those of you who didn't know---we sold our house. It all came about VERY quickly. We didn't even have it on the market, nor had we really planned to have it on the market yet. So we know it was all a "God-thing". We wanted/needed to move because our house is only 3 bedrooms and Hayden would probably like to have a bedroom at some point...yes, I admit he has been sleeping in our room all this time...not in our bed, but in our room. I haven't minded that at all and really don't care what everyone thinks about it either, but I it is time to begin trasnsitioning him to his own room, but there is no room. Some people might say "put him in the room with Conner", but seriously be realistic...do you think a nearly 13 year old wants a 1 year old in his room???!!! I don't think so!

So our big problem is, we don't know where we are moving...and the closing will be at the end of this month! We have some ideas and some possibilities, but unless God steps in again, they won't be happening by the end of the month. Our buyers are possibly willing to give us an additional 30 days in the house and that may be what we need. This is so crazy overwhelming though!

Pray for us as we pack up from the home we have lived in for the past 16 years. The first/only home our children have ever known (they are a little nervous about all this). Pretty much the only house that Frank has ever know (his dad built this house and he grew up in it). The memories, good and bad, that we have shared here. I am excited about our new move, and we need it, but I have to admit, I am a little nervous too.
