Young Marines Military Ball

This year Conner didn't take a "date-date" to the Young Marines Military Ball. He took his sister and his cousin.

They always have a birthday cake in honor of the starting of the Young Marines. There is a special cutting ceremony with a large sword and then the "Youngest" and "Oldest" Young Marines attending the Ball get to eat a piece of the cake first. Conner is standing with their Commanding Officer. This was his last day with the Young Marines...he will be attending Marine Officer Training. Way to go Sgt. Taylor!

Then we had fun dancing. Well, as you can see SOME of the Young Marines stuck around like glue to the wall! ha ha But the girls decided they would dance anyway! And they all did the Limbo and had a good time.

And of course one of my sweet baby dancing with me.

Pottery Update

Here is some of the pottery from Mari Cate's birthday party. Isn't the plate cute that they did for her birthday? That was part of the party price. It has her handprint in the middle and then all of her friends, and mine and Frank's thumbprints around it. Such a cute memory! I made the plate at the bottom with the "H" in it to go in my kitchen. I was thrilled with how it came out and it matches in my kitchen great!! You know a mom's gotta have a little fun sometimes too!!

Need Girl Scout cookies?

No, not really yet. But soon the cookie sales will begin. Actually right now we are doing Fall Candy and Magazine sales...anyone interested?? Mari Cate decided she wanted to become a Girl Scout this year. She has never wanted to try anything like this before, so we highly encouraged her. One of our good friends is one of the leaders so that makes it a lot more fun for her. So, if you are wanting girl scout cookies when we start selling, I'll be happy to get you some!!

While I was going through mounds of laundry on my bed, Hayden was getting sleepier and sleepier until finally he just layed down in the middle of the bed and fell asleep. I thought it was kind of funny cause it looked like he just blended in with the clothes!


Men can sleep anywhere, huh?

Can I just tell you...

I needed this tip for the day "Melted Crayon Dried on Clothing" . I just went down to put a load of clothes in the dryer and in the dryer with Hayden's clothes found this...
and this...

Since Hayden doesn't color yet I am trying to figure out how the blue crayon got in his load of clothes???? Ahh, the mysteries of laundry!!!

Bath Time Fun and Attempting To Crawl

Just some pics from bath time that I thought were cute. And by the way, he is not chewing on the washcloth that I wash with. I now have to give him one to play with or there is a little fit. He loves his bath though.

Hayden is attempting to crawl. He is still at the point we he gets frustrated, but he is beginning to get it figured out that he is supposed to move when he is on the floor. Obviously I want him to master this milestone, but it is scary to think about him moving all over the place and I really am not ready for him to grow up!! Oh and there is just a cute picture of him playing on my little keyboard, too.
